LANEHAM PARISH COUNCIL

 

Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday, 9.03.09 in the Village Hall at 7.00 p.m.

PRESENT: Councillors G. Scrini, Mrs. B. Barber, P Baines, F. Clark, J. Cobb, and Dist. Cllr Mrs. Isard

Before the meeting started the Chairman congratulated Cllr Fred Clark on his 40 years service to the Parish Council,

2.  DECLARATION OF PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTERESTS

None

 

POLICE REPORT

Information received from PC Bailey indicated there had been no crime reported since the last meeting.

 

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 9.2.09

The minutes had been circulated before the meeting. It was proposed by Cllr Clark and seconded by Cllr Mrs. Barber, that the minutes were accurate, this was unanimously agreed.

 

5. MATTERS ARISING

a) Bridleway 25 – No word back from Laura Summers, the Chairman will contact her.

b) Bus Shelter – A cheque for £1000 has been received from NCC.  Letters of thanks to be sent.  The Chairman proposed that the outstanding loans should now be repaid, this was agreed.  Some dirty marks on the bus shelter walls, the Chairman will try and get these removed as soon as possible.

c) Village Maintenance – Hoo Lane –some work has now been done – beck cleared and some levelling done, but still some work to be completed, this was very welcome news.

d) Garden at Church Laneham – the Chairman has drafted a letter to Mr. Rawson setting out the proposals for the council taking on the garden.

e) Village Signs – the third sign still to be painted.

f) Clayhough Lane – some planings still need to be moved there.  However, some work has been done on Broadings Lane by the occupant of Holly Folly Farm – a letter of thanks to be sent.

g) Casual Vacancy – still no interest/

h) Village Hall repairs – will be done as soon as weather permits.

i) Sirens – Cottam  Power Station have now provided the information – this will now be put in Roundabout.

j) Bell Holt & Wharf Footpath – still need to complete user forms.  The Chairman to contact Robin Minnitt

k) Christmas Lights – letter received from Church, they are happy for the council to provide a new tree.

l) Planning Matters  - the Chairman has drafted a letter to Mr. Armiger.

m) Insurance – form to be completed for an alternative insurance quote.

n) Parking – PC Bailey has put notes through doors and a piece in roundabout re parking.  There has already been a noted improvement.

 

 

6.  PUBLIC DISCUSSION

7. PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS

a)       NALC  subscription  £63.60  (000744)

b)       Clerk Fees and Expenses  £381.27 (000745)

c)       Caretaker  £341.66  (000746)

d)       Fledgelings donation £25.00  (000747)

e)       Bus Shelter final repayments 3 x £328.01  (000748, 49 & 50)

It was proposed by Cllr. Scrini and seconded by Cllr F. Clark that the accounts be approved for payment, this was unanimously agreed.

The Fishing Club has still not sent in their cheque.

Cllr Cobb declared a personal interest in item (b)

 

8. BELL HOLT AND WHARF FOOTPATH

User forms still need to be completed.

 

9. LANE LETTINGS

Will take place in the village hall at 9.00 a.m. on Easter Monday, 13th April.  Cllr Clark will officiate if the Chairman is not available.  The notices will be posted on both boards and in Roundabout.

 

10. CORRESPONDENCE

a)       BDC Info re Local Area Structure meeting on 23rd March – passed to the Chairman.

b)       Rampton Hospital date for next meeting is now 16th April.

c)       Trent Vale Partnership Newsletter –to be copied to Cllrs. Mrs. Barber and Mr. Cable.

d)       BDC Employment Land Capacity Study – info passed to Chairman.

e)       BDC Service and Facilties form – Chairman to complete.

f)        BDC Sports Club Directory to be displayed in hall.  Chairman will try and obtain more copies for young persons in village.

Cllrs  Mrs. Isard and Mr. Cobb left the meeting.

 

13. LANEHAM LAST MONTH

a)       Trees need pruning on Main Street.  Tree Warden and John Hempsall to be contacted.

b)       Footpath Map – a query had been raised as to where this was available from.  Laura Summers had promised to do some work on this.  The Chairman to contact.  Would also raise the question if there was any money left for Clayhough Lane which she had also indicated was a possibility.

c)       It was agreed to discuss the Christmas Tree at the next meeting AGENDA

d)       Road outside Melson House had been very dirty, but this had now been cleaned up.

e)       Bookies and Cookies – very successful this month. 

f)        Meadow – bulbs are now starting to flower.  Will need some spraying and cutting soon, all interested parties to be circulated with up to date news.

g)       Next meeting – councillors were reminded that next meeting is on 20th April a week later than normal due to Easter Monday.

 

 

There was no further business discussed and the meeting closed at approximately 8.25 p.m.
